Car Seat Fitting Station

Safe Kids accomplishes its mission by concerted community action, including prevention programs, which facilitate public appreciation for the safety measures necessary to protect children. In July 1997, Huntsville Hospital became the Lead Agency for Huntsville Area Safe Kids. The Coalition remains active by providing public education and awareness to potentially reduce unintentional injuries to children. Huntsville Area Safe Kids periodically sponsors child passenger safety buckle-up events in the community for the purpose of checking and installing car seats, as well as providing education and resources on child passenger safety. |

Car seats are inspected and installed by certified child passenger safety technicians. Parents/caregivers are shown how to install the car seats themselves and educated on child passenger safety issues.
